Sexual Dysfunction Affects Women Differently

The study aimed to establish the efficacy of hormone therapy in lowering the risk and improving sexual behavior.

While hot flashes are readily categorized as the most common symptom of menopause, other complications frequently surround the process, including changes that impair the libido, sexual pleasure, and general sexual activity of a woman.

Since hormone therapy is the most effectual treatment choice to help women control effects of menopause, it was the subject of the recent study, which involved over 200 women between the ages of 45 to 55.

The findings showed that women with secondary and higher education and a wider number of sexual partners during life had a decreased likelihood of experiencing sexual dysfunction.

Hormone treatment has not been shown to reduce the risk of sexual dysfunction, nor has it played a substantial role in deciding sexual behavior. However, during sexual interactions, women using hormone therapy usually had greater body-esteem; improved sexual function, except for desire/interest; and less sexual issues than women not undergoing hormone therapy.
